You're ALIVE! I'm so glad. I'm currently reading Lewis Black's ME OF LITTLE FAITH. I just found out about you in the chapter titled, "the american guru." Black said you had an exceptional understanding of drugs and that you were also exceptionally articulate when explaining them. I believe it! I just googled you. Evidently, you've got a GREAT head on your shoulders -- you survived the 50s, 60s, 70s, etc. and you survived this mine field experience in Korea. Great story. Congrats on your remarkable life and your exemplary philosophy.

I LOVE this story! Thank you for humanizing what most consider a "gay-issue"
We all hold the capacity for compassion, judgment, courage, vision, and fortitude.
Blessings...

Let me say, I'm just happy to see you talking in public, you've been kinda quiet for a while.

Mind you, I'm half a continent away, so maybe you're just not as noisy as you used to be.

I'm not sure that came out right...

yes, thank you.I LOVE this story!!! I first read the story of Mother H in "Rendered Infamous" at my aunt's house years ago ( I inherited her copy when she died in 2001) and I *roared* and shared it with a friend who was stationed at Alameda Naval Weapons Station around the same time as you.

folks who haven't had the opportunity should check out other tales and musings in Rendered Infamous...probably the most nitty-gritty of Stephen's books. lots of good honest tales about prison, the military, Stephen's dad as a carpenter wth integrity, the poltics of the day (20 years ago).

Thank you for this story, I've always enjoyed your writing, and gained insight into many subjects from it.
A few years back, I had heard that you were anti-gay, but did not think so myself, this story justifies what I thought. Glad to have your posts arrive in my email inbox.
